What is Medical Acupuncture Treatment/ElectroNeuromodulation?

Medical acupuncture is used within our practice to address pain conditions and vascular circulation concerns through targeted neuromodulation.

Fine, sterile needles are placed at specific anatomical sites to influence nerve signaling, reduce inflammation, and improve blood flow. When appropriate, electrical stimulation (E-Stim) is applied to enhance neuromuscular activation and vascular responsiveness.

The goal of medical acupuncture is to decrease pain, restore functional mobility, and improve circulation in a structured, medically supervised setting.  This service is offered within a physician-supervised medical practice and may be integrated with IV therapy or other treatment plans when appropriate.

What Conditions Does Medical Acupuncture Address?

Medical acupuncture may be used to support:

Neck and back pain, Sciatica, Shoulder pain, Knee pain, Myofascial pain syndromes, Peripheral neuropathy, Post-surgical stiffness, Reduced peripheral circulation, Cold extremities, Pelvic vascular congestion, and Autonomic nervous system imbalance.

Electro-acupuncture may be particularly beneficial for patients experiencing both pain and circulation-related symptoms.

How Does Electro-Acupuncture Improve Circulation?

Low-frequency electrical stimulation applied through acupuncture needles may:

• Increase microvascular blood flow
• Stimulate nitric oxide release
• Improve oxygen delivery to tissues
• Enhance nerve signaling
• Reduce localized inflammation

By improving vascular responsiveness and decreasing muscular restriction, electro-acupuncture supports both pain reduction and optimizes circulation.

Who is an Ideal Candidate?

Medical acupuncture may be appropriate for patients who:

• Prefer non-pharmaceutical pain management strategies
• Have plateaued with physical therapy or injections
• Experience chronic muscular tightness with vascular symptoms
• Want to optimize circulation and recovery
• Are seeking a structured, medically supervised approach
